I survived the Whole30!
I made it through the Whole30 and I am pretty satisfied with my results. As you guys know, I have been struggling with my postpartum body and let me tell you this program gave me the boost of confidence that I needed! I was looking for results and the Whole30 help me jump-start that process. I wanted my clothes to fit somewhat normal again and a pair of size 14 jeans finally feels loose on me. Mind you, I jumped all the way up to a size 18! Overall, I got so much more out of it than I expected.
I was able to get back on track with my healthy eating habits and gain self-control again when it came to food. My hip that has been hurting me since before baby, was gone. I may have to do the Whole30 again because I did not do the reintroduction part, so I’m not sure what food is making the inflammation in my hip flare-up. The diet was restrictive and I am happy about that, it was exactly what I needed.
It was hard, but I stuck with it for 30 days. I only lost 4 pounds, which at first I was a little bummed about and then I had to remember how many inches I’ve lost.
The Whole30 was definitely restrictive and at times found myself getting annoyed with the word compliant. I stuck with it for 30 days though, it was hard, but I did it.
I am shy of 7 months postpartum and finally feel more like myself. Strong, inspired, confident (sort of, lol), energized, emotionally healthy … just overall feelings of positivity.
I am writing this 3 weeks after the program and happy to say, I have lost another 5 pounds. It may not seem like a lot, but trust me … I have come a long way. I gained over 50 pounds during my pregnancy and I enjoyed every bit of food I ate too. I’m just paying for it now!! I’m just making healthier choices, being more consistent with my workouts, and adding a lot more cardio!
This program and lifestyle may not be for everyone, but I hope that it will at least encourage some of you to learn more about what you are putting into your body.
