Ramadan Kareem from my family to yours!

It's literally my favorite time of the year. This is a month that is filled with blessings and the opportunity to get closer to God. Muslims from all over the world use it as a time to self reflect spiritually, spending time with family & loved ones, and increasing your deen.

Though I won't be fasting. I'll be using this time to pray even more, read the entire Quran, learn more about my religion, strengthen my relationship with God, and so much more.

Blessed to see another Ramadan

Moment of silence & can I also get a round of applause! I am proud of me for working out and staying active during this pregnancy. My first pregnancy, I maybe worked out 5x throughout the entire 5 months then took me about 3 months to even think about working out again. I made a promise to myself to exercise during this pregnancy due to the many benefits of exercising.

I gained over 70 pounds and right now I’ve only gain 35 pounds this pregnancy. Working out thus far has helped me gain less weight and clear my mind. I truly believe it’ll help me with my labor and delivery as well, because believe it or not you need strength/stamina to push that little one out. I also believe it will help with my postpartum recovery as well. I think it’ll help me to combat ppd and also I’ll be itching to get back working out sooner rather than later once cleared.

Staying active and working out looks different for everyone during pregnancy. I’m a huge advocate for listening to your body. If it feels good, keep it up. If it is uncomfortable, stop and consult your doctor.

Oh and last piece of advice, give yourself grace mama, because some days/weeks we just can’t get up, and that’s okay. Your body is going through so many changes and once delivery comes it’s game time.

The way this boys smile melts my heart is something serious.

It was so important for us to make sure we planned a trip with just Papa, before he becomes a big brother. So to capture his first plane ride was priceless. The smiles, him saying that this was the best day ever, and just getting to experience everything through his eyes is such a blessing.

This mama is finally in the home stretch and counting down the days till baby girl is here. I wish I could tell you all that I’m having a blast being preggers, but the truth is I’m not. I’ve never been that person to be like … OMG I love being pregnant. LOL, I just like the outcome lmao.

Although, all praises due to God. I’m really just going with the flow and motions of being pregnant. No serious health concerns. Baby is healthy. I’m eating reallllll goodT. Even though I still feel lonely and get in my feelings at times, I have the best family and friends a girl could ask for. I definitely don’t take that for granted.

And yes, content has been slim to basically none. I’ll pick it up a notch, but I’m choosing lounging on the couch and relaxing more and more these days.

Coming into March straight from my babymoon. Actually let's just call it a family moon😝. I think we all needed to get away and I was able to see life through Papa's eyes. His first time on an airplane, rollercoaster, a resort stay … so many first I was able to experience with him.

I spent a lot of time observing him and hubby. Just thanking Almighty for blessing me with such an amazing family. Now that we're back home and I've finally entered the third trimester ... it's time to get lots of rest and prepare for the baby.

My girls and I shared our wins/areas of opportunity so far this year and I loved every minute of it.

Having a yearly vision board soiree and keeping one another accountable throughout the year is very important. Hoping that we keep it up and check in with one another at the end of every month.

I'll share a few with you guys here!
WINS

✨ I read a total of 3 books this month. My goal for the year is 12, so definitely hoping to exceed that.

✨I completed a course for my certification, so now all I have to do is take practice exams and pass the test

✨For the month of January, I prayed ALL 5 of my daily prayers. As a Muslim woman this is something that I have struggled with and at my big age, I've finally made it a part of my lifestyle. So, I thank God Almighty.

✨I finally set up my very own @shop.ltk account, slowly but surely coming together. LINK IN BIO, follow me😉

✨Spending more time with Papa and trying to be more present has been a success. We played tag in the house for about 30 minutes and I don't recommend while pregnant because I was sore 2 hours later ... like I could barely walk. SO worth it though!!

Areas of opportunity

✨Working out 3x a week is slim to none. Even if it is just taking a 30 minute walk. I want to stay active during this pregnancy which I have, but I can feel myself slipping.

✨Content was not planned out and created. No photoshoots scheduled. Just going with the flow. I'm blaming it on the pregnancy. Goal is to do a better job at this.

✨Time management/procrastination. Wanting to use my time more wisely, but at the same time giving myself grace because baby girl is growing.

✨Not stepping into my purpose. Still my theme for the year and I know I'm making strides ... but I'm capable of so much more.

Haha, I was thinking of a deep caption to write, but I have nothing for y’all … so I’m going to go on a tiny ramble.

I think the first photo basically sums up how life has been this past week. I’m just trying to smile through it. There’s just so much going on because of this pregnancy and the majority of the time I don’t understand it.

I’m lonely af, I’m so used to being busy and on the go … I really don’t remember my last pregnancy being like this. I’m pretty sure I was out and about, but this time is different … I have more responsibilities and a 4-year-old at that.

I know I’m growing a baby and I shouldn’t be too hard on myself but this is weird lol. Workouts are close to none (sad day). Energy levels are non-existent. I barely get anything done most days. Growing a tiny human is a lot more than people can imagine if you haven’t experienced it for yourself. Working on giving myself grace and taking it day by day.

This week I’m going to focus on self-care. Okay, that’s it …. that’s the cap.

Can y’all believe its the last week of 2022!?

I’ve been reflecting on this past year since the beginning of December … I am so grateful for all the blessings this past year and even the trials that God has faced me with.

I hosted a vision board with my girls earlier this month and wasn’t too excited about it because I didn’t feel “accomplished,” but then I realized I was focused on all the negative.

As I did my 2022 year in review blog post and wrote out my vision for 2023, I realized I need to focus more on the positive things. LINK IN BIO!!

This next year, I plan to really be intentional about stepping into my purpose and accomplishing the things that I laid out on my vision board. This year is definitely going to bring new challenges since baby girl is on the way, so I’m making sure to set realistic goals. Because the “free” time I have will soon be gone.

Anywho, I am so excited for this new year! Whats your vision for the year 2023?

Date night with the hubs. Shout out to him for getting me out of the house, because I almost told him to go without me, because I wasn't feeling well. Thankfully I went and had the best time.

There's a lot I feel that's not really spoken about during pregnancy. One thing that isn't discussed as much is the feeling of being isolated or lonely. And it kind of just takes a toll on your mental.

It can be so easy to fall into the habit of not getting out of the house, especially when you are not feeling the best. That being said, I'm trying to make it a point to do things, and do them more often. I stay in my house, more than I would like to admit. Even though it has taken a slight toll on my mental. I enjoy being in the house ... it just drives me crazy. Does that make sense?

Anyways, here’s to getting out of the house more and doing more things🤞🏾✨

The 5th annual vision board part was a success. I can’t believe we have been doing this for 5 years now. As a whole, we all agreed to be more intentional with the things we put on our board. I know I’m ready to step into my purpose and knock some things off my list.Let’s get it🤞🏾🙏🏾✨
