It’s Tuesday morning here in Dallas, rainy and gray. I made it to the gym at 5 am, Ash is bathed, fed, and ready for the day. I have about an hour before work, so this is my “me time” to take a minute and bring you guys up to date.
As many of you know, I did the Whole30, and it helped jump start my weight loss journey. If you don’t know what the Whole30 is, you can visit my post here, Hello WHOLE30., to get some background information on the program.
At the end of my first round, I felt and looked better, it was the first time I felt some sort of self-confidence after having Ash. I was 100% compliant and only lost 4 pounds, but the number of inches I lost was impressive, don’t believe me? Check out my pictures from my first go on the Whole30, OH SNAP! BEFORE PICTURES. I went from a size 18 to a size 14, so for those of you who are so obsessed with the number on the scale this program is for you. One of the rules is that after the first day you cannot weigh yourself until your Whole30 is over. Avoiding the scale was so easy for me because my scale died on me and the only one I had access to was at the gym.
This time, I have a scale and I will be weighing in weekly!
Yes, I am going for round 2 on this program, hence the title.
Why am I doing this again?
Honestly, ya girl is turning the big 3-0 in T-minus 52 days and my best friend’s bachelorette party is the week after in Miami. I have goals to crush. I want to lose at least 20 pounds by my birthday.
For the most part, I want to feel healthy and alive again, which I am slowly getting to. I consider myself an athlete, so I want my strength and energy back like yesterday!
I have a small confession to make, I’ve started the Whole30 a good 3 times now since April 15 and if you follow me on SnapChat, AdoreSimmy, then you would know. I wasn’t as committed as I was the first go around and I think that is because I went public with it. I may have gotten a little bit too comfortable, but managed to continue dropping weight.
Life has just been throwing me off my healthy eating game and I don’t have as much time on my hands with caring for a little one now. I would start, not having enough time to cook something Whole30 compliant, and I’d be like okay restart on Monday let me go fulfill my sugar craving. And I did go to Creamistry this past Sunday and I got not only 1, but 2 cups of ice cream, I don’t care I had to do it. It was buy one get one free, couldn’t pass up the deal.
Yesterday, May 19, 2019, was officially day 1 of the Whole30 for me. And I am putting it out there because this is the only way I feel that I will stick to it. You guys are my accountability partners, so THANK YOU!!!!
What other benefits do you get from the Whole30?
Now besides the weight loss part, I really want to get that happy happy joy joy feeling back and I also want to know what the heck I am eating to cause my hip pain. And other moms that I’ve talked to say they experienced the same thing after giving birth, but no! I’ve had this before and I’m pretty sure it was first caused by lifting heavy and not recovering properly.
On my first round, the inflammation was non-existent. I slept better and woke up feeling 100% better. The only way I am going to figure out what food is causing the pain is to actually do the reintroduction part at the end of my 30 days. That’s where I slowly include food that was not Whole30 compliant back into my diet. I am really interested in discovering what exactly is triggering it because getting up in the morning is pure hell.
Well for round 2 I am weighing in at 211 pounds, so I’ve killed it by keeping the original 4 pounds I lost off. Remember, I started in February at 231 pounds … Simmy you are a B O S S! And I had to do another round of before pictures and also includes measurements, so go ahead and take a look, OH SNAP!BEFORE PICTURES ROUND 2.
The goal is to be at 193 pounds, which is definitely achievable, so stay tuned, and watch me work.
Have you done the Whole30? Maybe you’re on round 1? Have you heard about it, but haven’t given it a shot?
Share in the comments with me babe.’
