And Just Like That, She’s 1 Month Old

Time sure is flying and it feels like I just had Tamilore yesterday. I find myself staring at her in awe. I wonder if that ever stops, because I still do the same with Ashraf. Being that this is my second time around and Ashraf is now 4 … he’s needing me less as the days go by. Pretty sure that’s why I am cherishing every single moment with my sweet girl.

I’m just absolutely grateful for for every day my family gets to spend together.

Asiyah has been such a blessing and she was the addition my family needed

1 month, let’s get into it.

Asiyah has been such a chill baby, she definitely got that from her daddy. She could just be fooling us though, because we are only a month in and I recall saying that Ash was chill in his 2 month update. As any new born all she does is eat, sleep, and poop. Baby girl sleeps so much that there are times when we try to play with her to keep her up, but there’s only so much we can do.

Oh and let me tell you all about your little friend. When I first had her and tried to breastfeed her, baby girl would NOT latch. I mean I tried every position, tried to place her on the boppy she just wasn’t ready. I really did not want to give her formula. I have nothing against formula and I truly believe that a fed baby is best. What I want for my children is to be able to breastfeed them for a year, so couldn’t wrap my mind around having to feed her formula. I fed her formula for the first 3 days while trying to get her to latch and pumping to get my milk flowing. Now as soon as she figured out how to latch, game over! Asiyah can eat, like her mommy and daddy.

We love food in this family.

Baby girl doesn’t really have a sleep schedule. I mean we feed her and then she sleeps. Hubby hasn’t put the crib together , so we’ve been using the HALO bassinet which she sleeps in just fine. I love that it detaches, so during the day we can just move the bassinet to the living area with us. I hold her a lot though . Both my mom and sister keep getting on me about that BUT the snuggles! I just can’t get enough this might be my last baby (topic for another day).

We just started to put her in the 4moms Mamaroo and she stays in there for a bit, think its just something she has to get used to it. I personally love it!

We are already out and about going on walks since week 2. Thankfully she was born in the spring and we don’t have to worry about cold weather for some time. I’m trying to use the bassinet that came with our stroller rather than the car seat because I know she’ll grow out of it pretty fast.

I have to say though, I’ve had it easy this first month with Asiyah. My mom is staying with us, so I’d say I’ve been get at least 5 hours of sleep since week 2 and I’ll take it. I know it won’t last, lol. Eventually she’ll get older and stay awake more. Then I don’t know how long my mom is staying with us … so I’m enjoying it.
