Before baby girl came, I decided that I just wanted to rest. I didn’t want to do too much, but rest. I’ve been missing in action on social media and here on the blog … it has kind of been refreshing.
Anyways enough rambling, that’s not why you all are here … now is it?
Well baby girl is here and I can’t express how much I love my little princess.
All praises due to Allah. She is just the addition my family needed.
Didn’t think my heart could get any fuller, but here we are.
Asiyah Oluwatamilore Omowunuola Hassan

Baby girl made her appearance on May 12, 2023. She came into the world at 8 lbs 4 oz and 21 inches. My doctor definitely scared me a bit … I thought I was going to have nine pound baby. Well, it felt like I was pushing out a nine pound baby.

These past two weeks, I’ve really just been soaking all the time I have with her. She’s just too precious. I know I’m only two weeks in, but Asiyah is just super chill and laid back. She definitely gets that from her daddy, because that’s not me. I am the one with all the energy … hence Ashraf’s full throttle energy.
All she does is eat, sleep, and poop. The past few days, we have been trying to keep her up after she eats, so she can “play” with us. My nieces put on Cocomelon for her, like let’s slowdown … no screen time just yet! I thought it was hilarious, but her big beautiful eyes were definitely following along.
Asiyah is already being spoiled, family is obsessed with her. I mean it has been almost 5 years since there was a newborn and then there hasn’t been a baby girl for the past 15 years. I don’t know what it is, but there’s just so many more things to buy for a girl than a boy.
I’m not quite sure what her personality will be, but I’m excited to watch her grow. I’m excited to see how her and Ashraf connect. I’m excited to see if she will be daddy’s girl or mommy’s best friend.
