Here’s some information on Whole30 if you have no clue about Whole30 or need some guidance, Hello Whole30
Hello again. Where do I start? Let’s take it back to the beginning of quarantine.
In March of 2020, we all basically stayed home for the most part. There was a lot going on and I already knew in my head that if I just did nothing, I was going to gain weight. Especially since my mom was living with us at the time, like … it’s hard to say no to her food. So, your girl takes up running and does a 5K training program and I did that for about 3 months completing the program twice and even doing it during Ramadan.
Your girl got all the way down to 191 believe it or not. I was LIT! Then with moving and just being all over the place, I gained all the weight back.
Moving, starting a new job, and trying to just keep up with life I weighed in last Monday at 208.
The scale has had a negative effect on me, because I literally step on the scale every day, sometimes 2x. My son has even picked up the habit as well, stepping on the scale whenever he comes into the restroom lol. Quite honestly, if you look at me you probably wouldn’t even think that I weight that much, and there were times I have to check myself too because I have to remind myself that I have gained some muscle back.
Well we are halfway through October and I decided that it is time for me to take control again. I do CrossFit and I’ve started Peloton’s Marathon training, currently on week 6 (more on that to come) and Monday through Friday I eat pretty damn good. It’s just that the weekend comes and it’s like I’m enjoying myself a little too much. Which ultimately voids all the work I put in during the week.
This is why I’m doing Whole30 again… I’m basically like giving my body an intervention in some way or the other. I know what to eat and what not to eat, so that’s not my issue. My issue is being disciplined. I have adopted many of the Whole30 practices when it comes to meal prep and how to eat . I know that I have a pretty good relationship with food, I just need to regulate how much I enjoy myself.
As I go into week 2 of Whole30, I am pretty hopeful, and I do recognize the changes already. I’m down to 206 as of this morning and will not be stepping on the scale until I’m done with Whole30. And to be honest with you guys, I don’t know how long I am going to do Whole30 maybe another week or maybe up until Thanksgiving who knows.
Want to know one twist? I will however have 1 day out of the week where I can only have ONE meal that is not Whole30 compliant. I’ve completed Whole 30 not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 times, and I pretty much know that one non-compliant Whole30 meal once a week isn’t going to knock me off track.
And I want to show you guys that you can still eat what you want in moderation and get the goals you want, just have to work for them. Pretty much similar to how I did Round 4 and it worked out pretty good for me.
Well wish me luck and as always, before you head out check out my current measurements and weight. Excited to see where I’ll be by being more disciplined.
